Episode 2: more soon, both ways. always.

With love,

Season one is about altars. Episode two is called: more soon, both ways. always. Listen to it, and let me know what you think.

Shira Erlichman released an essay recently, and two sentences have been on repeat ever since I read them; they wrote: “Everything I see is fragile & resilient, impatient & divine, perfect & in need of work. Whether looking out my window, or into my mind, or at the fourth draft of my novel.”

This episode was my fourth draft, or more accurately, my eighth. I’m left thinking, “Pack light. Make space.”

recommended listening environments: a relatively quiet place, on a walk you love to take, ideally in the last few hours of the sun or in the morning when you feel ready for the sun. on a porch somewhere, in a set of headphones— your favorite. on a walk— to a park— a place where you can see little ones running. somewhere where you can see the birds without prompting them to fly away, in front of a notebook— maybe, in your bed. Somewhere where you’re thinking about a friend. xo.

1. Top left. image I took of a pedestrian bridge in France. Lush green trees are in the background, and there is a soft blue sky with hints of white clouds— in almost crescent-like formations. If you look closely, you can see two people walking together.. The railings are green, and the bridge is concrete. 2. Top Right. Image of a Keith Haring collage at Piedmont Park. Haring’s hair is purple, and he’s wearing red glasses and a yellow shirt. The vendor also sells t-shirts- mostly neutrals and Black Power Africa jewelry— behind the collage. A man is standing near the Keith portrait wearing white pants, a gray shirt, and a black watch. I’m walking with Jarvis, unseen, telling them about a dream Malcolm and I have. 3. Bottom Left. Image of a brown paper bag containing one of my favorite meals. Written on it says, “From We, With Love,” with a wide heart below it. Surrounding it are the names Eugeny, Olya, and Alex. 4.Bottom right. Image of a collection of smiley faces while walking through the Denmark airport. A variety of faces drawn in white paint with a sharp dark blue background. One smile has a mirror that also has neon typography in it, it says “expect a miracle.” 1. Some Images, with IDs in Alt-text. Bridge, Keith, WE, Miracle.
Logo designed by Nadine Nakanishi. An orange-to-purple gradient image that resembles a fluid orb-like structure it might resemble a jellyfish without the tentacles or a lamp, or both. The top half is purple with peeks of orange; the bottom half is a more muted orange/yellow. Below this image are the words “on the precipice” in purple.
